| In November of 2004, my sister's boyfriend, Sean, was deployed to Kuwait. He recieved 2 weeks to come home and visit his family in July of 2005. During these two weeks, he proposed to my sister. He returned to Kuwait after those 2 very short weeks, and in January of 2006, he was home to stay. (Or so we thought...) When Sean returned home, he went back to school, in hopes to become a youth pastor one day. While still enrolled in school while Sean was away, my sister was now in her 4th semester at college. Sean, on the other hand, was only in his 2nd semester, when he should have been in his 6th. Summer came, and they set a date for their wedding. It was to be June 8, 2008. At this time, Carina would be done with school, and Sean would be well under way to his graduation. They figured they had a lot of time to plan everything, but going to school and planning a wedding wouldn't be easy, so they got started on the plans for the wedding. They got a lot done, for the wedding being almost 2 years away. Towards the end of the summer, Sean was informed that he would be deployed again, sometime within the next year. Needless to say, this screwed up the wedding plans completely. Now they know that he will be deployed around May or June of 2007, but they didn't know when he would be getting back, so they thought they would be on the safe side, and they moved the wedding back to December of 2008 or January of 2009. I was upset that Sean would be leaving again, but being the maid of honor, I was releaved that I didn't have to do any planning until after my senior year. Well....everything came crashing down yesterday, when they informed us that they were moving the date up to March 11, 2007. In case you don't have a calendar beside you, that is 6 months away! Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them, and there are so many benefits for them getting married before Sean is deployed. But this being my senior year, I will be spending all of my (not so) free time looking for colleges and writing essays. When am I going to having time to plan the wedding shower and the bachelorette parties? And let's not forget that the wedding is the week before the musical goes up! Not that it's an excuse to be bitchy...so, please tell me if I am. I guess, what I'm trying to say is, I have a lot on my plate. So, if I'm more bitchy than usually, please keep all of this in mind. Thanks!...Love you! MUAH | | |
| So...I was talking to Paco and Erik tonight, but some of you already know.
Well, I went to church for like the first time all summer. The message hit me REALLY hard! The first half was about having good, quality fun. Then pastor really got into the second half. The last part was about not having the kind of fun that you'll regret later. This kind of fun is only temporary. We will regret what we did, most likely get bored with whatever it is that we once had fun doing....but the biggest of all, is being killed in the process. Most likely if you are having the kind of fun of shouldn't be, you don't have Jesus in your heart, and if you are killed during this "fun," you won't be going to Heaven. Yes, I knew this all along, plan and simple, I wouldn't be going to Heaven if I was involved in this kind of fun. But I have to tell you, even knowing this, I still wasn't really getting it!
So...at the end of the night, during ending praise, I still wasn't totally focused on God. I was also thinking about who all was going to Friendly's with us in a few minutes. But what happened next really, truely, and honestly made me totally focus on Him!
Pastor got up on stage. He told us that one of our younger brothers had just died a few minutes before the service started in a serious car accident. Within a minute, mostly everyone was crying. Even me. Although I didn't personally know him, it was still very sad. But I wasn't crying because I was grieving. I was crying because I have been so foolish these past few months. Everyone told me that they knew this guy was going to Heaven. That's just the guy he was. He wasn't involved in the kind of fun that he shouldn't have been. He had good, quality fun! Well...right then, no matter what happened to me, I had to know that I am going to Heaven. It could have been anyone that was in that car accident. It could have been me...It could have been you!
Although I was listening to the sermon, it didn't really sink in until later. But out of everything that was said, a few words hit me the strongest. Would Jesus hang out with you when you are having fun?
You need to know for yourself. Are you having the kind of fun that you are going to regret later? Or are you having good, quality fun? ...If it were you in that car accident, would everyone know that they would see you again one day?

| Today was the class of 2006's last true day of high school. They are going to be walking across the stage in 8 days...that's just crazy!
I remember freshmen year so clearly...they were sophomores at the time, underclassmen just like us. Since they had just been freshmen, they picked on us with the upperclassmen, but they were still there to help us make it through our first year of high school. My sophomore year, they had moved on to become upperclassmen....and they made it known. They picked on the underclassmen, but still managed to help us get through our long, hard second year of high school. We moved on to become juniors, and joined the new, big bad seniors as upperclassmen. By this time, we no longer looked at them as intimidating...but as classmates, as some of our classes were with seniors, as friends, as we would hang out with them outside of school, and as brothers and sisters, as we would look up to them for advice. But the time has come...it is the end of our junior year. I still cannot believe how fast the time has past. The seniors will be graduated this time next week, and the time has come for the class of 2007 to step up and take charge.
But we will truely never forget the times we have spent and the people we met in high school. These memories will always have a place in our hearts. Katie Dilts, Brittany Marie Farner, Brittany Grigg, Carrie Hargraves, Emily Knight, Ricardo L'lantin, Tara Krupa, Joe Lucier, Will Malan and Erika Lyn Obrock...you have all shared a good laugh with me, but more importantly you have shared something with me that I will never forget and will cherish forever...your friendship and love. I love you all dearly and I will miss each and everyone of you so much. Congratulations on your success and best wishes on the years to come.
Look out East Penn...the class of 2007 are your seniors next year! It will be the best year of our lives....live it up!!!
| I'm actually in a very good mood...
Today was a lot better than the rest of my week! I think last night brought my spirits up a lot!
Last night was the 7th grade talent show! During 5th period, cuz, kat and me made signs for Chloe and her friends. Between 3:30 and 5:30 me and kat managed to go to Giant to get money out of the bank and for some flowers, to hair cuttery to visist Chloe in the parking lot, to k-mart to look for shirts (didn't have any cheap enough), to DQ for some ice cream, to dollar tree for some sun glasses, hats and ribbons, to michael's for shirts and paint, and to my house to get some things I needed. From 5:30 to 6:30 We painted 6 shirts and 6 hats, got the flowers ready, and got ourselves ready to go. So we get to the school about 10 of 7 (the show started at 7), and try to unload the car. The shirts still weren't dry, so there was paint everywhere. All over us, my car, our clothes...everywhere! So, we go in to take our seats and embarassed the heck out of Chloe and her friends. The show really wasn't too great. There were a few acts in the beginning I enjoyed, and other than Chloe's acts, it was actually quite annoying. After the show we were all dancing in the parking lot to My Humps...even Drew. And from there we were off to DQ, where cuz joined us. Danny's partner paid for all of us...that was so nice of him. And Nick handcuffed himself to the bench outside...haha!
Inside Jokes~"OMG...it's paper towel girl with a tamborine!" "SHMIR!" "This is giving me a headache...it's seriously hurting my ears!"
School wasn't that bad today! Paco taught me how to play guitar 3rd period...that was fun! Then after school I dropped off my application at Isaac's. Then cuz called me later to tell me I probably have the job...YAY!
